DESIGN PROPERTIES
The Experience Center in Zwolle is part of the transformation of the Breman Campus into a vibrant creative and technological hub for the city. We converted an old industrial building into modern office spaces using the Respace system, which allowed us to build efficiently within the existing structure. The project’s tight spatial conditions, especially beneath the inclined roof, required precise detailing, enabling us to build close to the roofline while preserving and showcasing the original trusses as a distinctive feature. We fully insulated the building to meet contemporary comfort and energy standards, turning a formerly cold industrial space into a bright and efficient work environment. The exposed trusses give the offices character and maintain a connection to the building’s industrial heritage, while the flexible interior build-out ensures adaptability for future use. By combining a modular construction approach with a sensitive reuse of the existing structure, the Experience Center demonstrates how adaptive transformation can support innovation and sustainability within the city’s built environment. As a cherry on top it is engineered with demountability and re-building it on another loaction in mind.
