For the Transferium project, we transformed an empty gym hall into temporary housing for Ukrainian refugees using the Respace system. By efficiently filling the large, unused volume with modular structures, we created comfortable living spaces that combine privacy, safety, and community. Prefabricated circular “comfort cabins” containing toilets and showers were added to provide essential facilities while maintaining a clean and efficient layout. In just a short time, the space was converted from an empty hall into a welcoming environment capable of housing up to 60 people. The project demonstrates how adaptive reuse and circular building methods can deliver humane, high-quality accommodation solutions in moments of urgent need.
